Normal Operation

Mic into snake input channel (set each channel as needed)
ensure the snake wires are plugged into the proper channels
lo cut button - should be down (unless its a bass guitar)

gain – (mic pre amp) ~ 4:00

Hi - all straight up
Mid – all straight up (unless needed to adjust EQ)
Lo - all straight up

Mon – 1, 2, 3 all off "pre" button up

Mute - up

Note: If red peak light comes on, turn down the gain

Solo – button up

Sub – button up (unless needed in studio(through the sub mix))

Main – button down in order to route the signal through the Main Mix

Slider – up until main volume averages 0 (but usually around 0)

Main Mix – usually around 0

CD – channel 11/12

DVD – channel 13/14

Computer – channel 15/16

Level buttons – all up (+4)

GOD Mic – usually channel 8 – ensure mic switch is on

All buttons below source section – up

Main Mix – down to route signal to meter, tape and sub up

Ctrl room & Headphones – controls monitor volume (before compression)

AUX Sends – 1, 2, 3, - all off (-00)

Stereo aux returns – 1, 2, 3 - all off

Program – (upper right) controls which effect is being used by the FX (Sub 3) processor. When changing effect choice, the number flashes showing which will be used when the knob is pressed and stops flashing if FX sends and returns are all off. The selector will make no difference.

If effects are desired: turn up the FX on the individual channel + Aux send 3 + Stereo aux return + ---> main mix button UP to route the FX to the main mix. When effects are desired, usually #9 room, works well.

We can fine tune individual channels by monitoring individual channels by pressing the solo button which will bring only that channel into the headphones and will not affect the main mix going into the dvd recorder and into the control room monitors.

Note: The signal out from the mixer goes through a stereo compressor/limiter; thus when the mixer shows overdrive, the signal is ok. Monitor mostly the control room speakers.
