Copying DVDs
Complete a dubbing request form. Collect fee.
Copying a DVD begins with copying an ISO image of the DVD to a hard drive. Then using that image to burn to a blank DVD.
Making an ISO image of a DVD to the internal hard drive
- Place DVD to be copied in 'hp dvd reader' on the editing computer.
- Wait for the automatic pop up menu then select 'Decrypt DVD Video' and click OK.
- In DVD Decrypter, from the menu select Mode > ISO > Read R or press 'R' on the keyboard.
- In the Destination panel, click on the icon to the right of the file path and set the path to 'C:\DVD' and file name to 'DVD_VIDEO_RECORDER.ISO' or name the file.ISO. Save.
- Click on the large DVD to Hard drive icon near the bottom left. If prompted to replace the file click 'yes to all'. This will make an ISO image of the disk on the hard drive. It will take several minutes for a long show.
- Click on the "OK" pop up button when prompted.
The DVD-ISO is now ready to be burned.
Burning an ISO image to a blank DVD
- Place a blank DVD in 'hp dvd writer' on the editing computer.
- Wait for the disc to be read by the computer
- Cancel the pop-up menu, If necessary. If "DVD-Decrypter" is already up, no pop up will occur.
- Click on the 'DVD Decrypter' icon on the desktop.
- In DVD Decrypter, from the menu select Mode > ISO > Write or press 'W' on the keyboard.
- In the Source pane. Click on the path icon near the top middle and set the path to the location of your iso file. For example: 'C:\DVD\DVD_VIDEO_RECORDER.ISO'
- Click on the hard drive to DVD icon near the bottom left. This will begin the burning process. Burn times are dependent on length of show. It takes about 15 minutes for an hour long show.
Additional copies can be made by following the burning instructions again.
It is recommended that each burned DVD is tested in the JVC multi-disk player.
