Local Core Services

Cablecasting -

MCTV15 cablecasts programming 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Our programming is a mixture of locally produced and sponsored shows, California university television, NASA, Free Speech Television and our local electronic bulletin board. City council and planning commission meets are cablecast live. Our schedule can be found on our website.

Monthly Orientation Night -

MCTV15 opens the door to anyone who is interested in learning more about public access television. Our orientation meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm. You will see a video presentation followed by a group discussion and tour of the facilities. Refreshments are provided.

Production Day -

MCTV15 is open for community productions every Tuesday. We offer three hour sessions starting at noon, 3pm and 6pm. Any producer can book a session in our studio for making a television show. The studio is fully equipped with cameras, lights, microphones, etc. It's the producer's responsibility to find a crew to assist in making their show. Production Assistance -

MCTV15 staff and volunteers are here to help translate your ideas into shows. We are available to assist in all phases of production. New producers can call to make an appointment for our next Orientation Meeting were we'll begin the production process. Shows produced through MCTV15's facilities are the sole responsibility of the producer involved. MCTV15's staff and volunteers provide assistance when asked but does not influence content in any way. In this way, the programs seen on Channel 15 reflect the diverse interests and viewpoints of the Siskiyou County community.

Professional Production Services -

MCTV15 provides professional paid production services to local nonprofit, government and education organizations. We can help promote and document your mission. We take care of all the production details.

Co-Production Services -

Co-Productions services allows you and our organization to recover our costs while serving the community. In a Co-Production arrangement, your organization pre-sells DVD's to cover costs and MCTV15 takes care of all the production needs.

Equipment & Facilities -

MCTV15 provides and maintains a fully equipped television studio, control room, digital video editing suites, location packages, dubbing equipment, cablecasting equipment and all the necessary accessories and supplies.

Outreach -

MCTV15 conducts outreach to inform the community of it's services and programs. Speakers will meet with an organization to discuss the many ways to utilizes community media.

Marketing -

MCTV15 uses various marketing vehicles to indirectly reach viewers, producers and sponsors. Marketing includes press releases, bill boards, EBB, website, postcards etc.

Education -

MCTV15 provides informal, hands-on education in all aspects to television production. You will learn about live studio productions including camera work, lighting, set design, microphone placement, floor directing. In the control room you will learn about directing, switching camera, titles, video inserts, audio mixing. We teach you the basic skills needed to edit your video on one of the digital video editing systems we have available.

Dubbing -

As a service to the community, MCTV15 provides copies of shows cablecast on channel 15 for a small donation. We can create DVD's for many sources such as VHS tape, miniDV tape and 8mm tape.

Electronic Bulletin Board -

Get the word out about an event or cause with MCTV15's Electronic Bulletin Board (EBB) the runs between our scheduled shows and every lunch time from noon to 1pm. The electronic display reaches more then 5,000 subscribers and motel rooms in South Siskiyou County. Anyone may promote their non-commercial activity on a first-come first-served basis. Website -

MCTV15 staff and volunteers maintains a website fully of information about our public access television. Everything from our schedule, board minutes, advice, forms, news and calendar are always up to date. The site uses a wiki system to allow editing access to just about anyone who whats to take part. With our 700 pages of content it's proving to be a popular media outlet.

Program Submissions -

Any community member may submit an "out-off-area-produced" show (Single or series) to MCTV15 for cablecasting. Sponsors agree to take full legal responsibility for the context of the show(s). MCTV15 also has many programs available for "adoption" by a sponsor.
