MCTV TEAM
John C and I have scheduled this coming Thursday, October 16 as the first “tech” check-out broadcast of the live news show that was discussed at the end of the August orientation meeting. This will be the first regularly scheduled live programming delivery on MCTV-15. We won’t know if it will launch as a weekly, by weekly or monthly – until we see the level of producer/crew response. It is designed to be a TEAM effort, as was discussed, in order to provide current, local and regional, news reporting with some national features. The live TV program signal will also be streamed live over MCTV’s new web feed, so, it can be viewed by anyone not on Northland Cable via their web connection. Presently the web feed is in a password access test phase. It’s been up for several weeks while John has been tuning out the glitches.
The news show will be done in the open camera round table format we talked about, with live real time web chat along with incoming and outgoing phone calls. Once this level of two way communication is running smoothly John will work out inserting pre-produced video interviews and news packages as well as one way and two way Skype video web-conferencing. This video web conferencing will allow Skype callers, with webcams, (world-wide), to feed in their live video which will be switched into the live MCTV program and web feed.
What the format needs this Thursday is for as many of you that can make it to come in and join an on-camera round table general discussion about the show. This will give John the real time test platform he needs to nail down the tech side. If you do have a news story you want to highlight please fell free.
If John’s base line configuration goes smooth he will try to provide us with in and out phone access for this first show. If that happens we can receive viewer on-air calls and or make calls out. So, we can invite interested on-line friends as well as MCTV viewers to call in with their comments and ideas as well.
Please let me know by phone or email if you plan to sit-in on the show (or can call in during the show), by emailing or calling me or John. We’ll start setting up the studio at 6pm.
