Presentation Kit

- I will showing the SMC video from my laptop through projector onto screen at the Weed Council meeting on 2/12/09. Is there anything I can do to make the audio more audible for the audience? - Audra. AUD...word games.
A portable public address system is needed to go along with the projector in order to make the audio more workable for a group audience. We don't have one, nor do I know of anyone with one.
Challenge = Opportunity
There is a service opportunity here? I suggest that SMC obtain a portable media presentation kit. This kit would be made available for rental by nonprofit and non commercial groups. I suggest the rental fee would be set at 5% of the kit value.
The kit would include a:
- projector ($500) for video, slides and computer presentations;
- screen ($250);
- laptop ($500) for DVD playback, photo slide show, presentations; and
- public address system ($750) for music, voice and dvd amplification.
Total value of kit $2,000. Suggested rental fee $100. At an estimated 25 rentals/year over 3 year lifespan would produce $7,500 in gross revenue. Even if the kit is rented only 20 times over 3 years it would still pay for it's self.
In conclusion, the kit would be a valuable and profitable service to the community. In addition SMC projects would benefit from it's use.
