Production Coordinator

The executive staff at MCTV 15 will endeavor to meet it's obligations by providing regular opportunities to the community in it's desire to use our managed facilities and equipment in a fair and equitable manner.

MCTV 15 staff has developed a position entitled 'Production Coordinator'. The coordinator will be paid a stipend to provide production support for a community production. We will train, mentor and supervise a group of trusted community members to act as 'Production Coordinators'.

The active list of 'Production Coordinators' will be maintained and used in assigning supervision to a studio booking. Names will be assigned on a rotating basis in the interest of fairness. Once a production coordinator has been assigned, their name goes to the bottom of the list.

MCTV 15 will take bookings for our regular production schedule without regard to staffing. Then use the list to assign a Production Coordinator. If no 'Production Coordinator' can be assigned for a regular production, then several coordinator's of last resort will be called upon. Other bookings are possible providing the staffing is arranged before the booking it confirmed.

Production Schedule

MCTV 15 will provide three regular production opportunities per week. Effective may 2009, the production day is Wednesday. Production slots are three hours in duration and are available at noon, 3pm and 6pm.

Position Description

The Production Coordinator is a designated representative of MCTV 15 and will be the responsible person that manages the studio production environment during a community production. He/she will be certified at the end of a multi-session training program that will be conducted at Studio COS. Training courses will be provided quarterly or at higher rates based on demand. The goal is continued improvement of skills, expansion of skills and competence for all those desiring to fill the Production Coordinator role.

The Production Coordinator:

  • takes responsibility for the studio and insures safe operation according to OSHA, COS and MCTV 15 policies;
  • provides producer access to the studio for the hours of the booked production session;
  • ensures that all equipment it correctly configured and working;
  • assists as needed and requested by the producer for any and all off camera activities in order to support the successful show production;
  • provides basic training to volunteers that have come to assist the producer;
  • acts as the official person in charge of the production facilities for the duration of the production;
  • gets a signed show agreement from the producer;
  • encourages producers, guests and volunteers to support MCTV 15 by making a $20 donation and offers a gift of a DVD copy of the show;
  • receives and processes payments of services and DVD's;
  • makes copy, labels and presents DVD's before purchaser leaves;
  • ensures that all equipment is turned off and returned to proper, neat, storage locations;
  • lockup or transfer studio responsibility to another staff member; and
  • complete production reporting forms leaving on office desk for processing.
