Program Director Roles and Responsibilities

The Program Director reports directly to the Siskiyou Media Council Executive Director and is responsible for management of all programming appearing on Northland Cable TV Channel 15 and live stream video on MCTV 15 website. Through communications with Executive Director and Technical Director, monitors such programming. Effective August 2009, the Program Director is currently authorized up to 4 hours per week for this duty. Program Director is currently an at will employee position through registration with Personnel Preference.

Specific duties as listed:

  • Process program submissions per operational policies
  • All shows must be accompanied by signed Show Agreement form for uploading to program schedule on a weekly basis
  • Media Transfer if needed for program submissions per producer request and per operational policy within set time allocation. Maintain updated written records of Producers sponsoring out of area shows in office file cabinet.
  • Weekly prepare the show guide and store on the Media Server external hard drive.
  • The weekly show schedule is first prepared on Calendar Scope running Windows XP. This software makes it possible to interactively plan out the week’s show times.
