Media Production Workshop

Join John Cumming for another Media Production Workshop, Tuesday, March 9, at MCTV15 Studio COS from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. In this meeting, John will demonstrate various lighting setups for studio and outdoor video recording. The last Media Production Workshop will be held on Tuesday March 23rd from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. The topic will be available on MCTV15's website. We need your input! What classes or workshops do you want to see in the coming months?

Volunteer Social Meeting

On February 3rd, over 25 producers, volunteers and friends of Siskiyou Media Council met for an annual gathering of the minds to discuss organizational progress. Attendees were reminded to navigate the MCTV15 website for policy info. Several Producers indicated they wanted to receive a dvd copy of their show upon production completion. Policy states that the Master DVD belongs to the Producer. It is not required that it remain on file in the studio after it has been submitted and scheduled for airing. If the backup copy is not needed for technical reasons, it can be distributed to anyone for $20 donation to Public Access. The suggested donation helps to cover equipment, time and materials costs that keep Public Access alive at our facility. For current practice, if the back up copy is not needed to support donations, the Producer may have it. In the future, rate changes will take into consideration providing the extra services producers have requested.

Production Tips

Making television shows is not difficult when using modern equipment, good techniques, a team of willing volunteers, and pre-planning.

This Month's Tip:

When is my show scheduled to air?

If you know the name of your show, scroll through the list at this link to find the scheduled date and time of your show. Keep in mind that public meetings will bump any public access scheduled show.
http://www.mctv15.org/Public/TVSchedule

If you want to get a regular time slot for your show, you can request it after you have done three shows in a series. You would then be able to publicize your time slot to those you want to watch your shows.

Programming on Channel 15 is streamed live on our home page! This feature is currently being offered as a free service to producers and the public. The UStream connection is relatively dependable, although changes beyond our control sometimes affect the dependability. When that happens, you can assist our technical staff by using the 'report a problem' link beneath the UStream window.
