| Your Show on MCTV15
|
Getting your show on MCTV 15 is easy and FREE*
- Prepare a copy of your Show
MCTV 15 can accept your shows on DVD for FREE. All other formats including VHS, S-VHS and miniDV need to be copied to DVD before cable casting. MCTV 15 can transfer shows to DVD for a small fee. Special arrangements can often be made for other formats. Make sure to clearly label your production with the show title, date, length of show in minutes, your name and telephone number.
- Complete the Show Agreement
You can print a copy of the Show Agreement agreement from the Adobe Acrobat file (PDF). A signed agreement must be submitted with the show before it can be shown on MCTV 15. By signing the show agreement you are taking complete legal responsibility for the content of the show.
- Submit Your Show
You can drop off your show with the completed show agreement during our business hours at Studio COS in Weed, or mail it to us at MCTV 15, College of the Siskiyous, 800 College Avenue Weed, CA 96094.
Note: *Show submissions from people outside Siskiyou County are subject to a cablecasting fee and availability of cablecasting time. See the Public Access Rate Sheet for details. There are also opportunities for commercial use of our production facilities. See the Commercial Rate Sheet.

The easiest, fun and FREE way to get involved in MCTV 15. Helping others is the way MCTV 15 works for the community.
- Attend an Orientation
The orientation includes a tour of the facilities, an overview of MCTV 15 services and policies. Orientations are conducted every third Wednesday at 7:00pm at Studio COS.
- Production Workshops
Training is offered ‘on the job’ every Wednesday at our studio during the productions of our community access producers. Training includes working with video camcorders, lighting, set design, audio, graphics, editing, studio production techniques and much more!

| Make Your Show at MCTV15
|
To make your own show at MCTV 15 requires that you become an 'Access Producer'.
- Attend an Orientation
The orientation includes a tour of the facilities, an overview of MCTV 15 services and policies. Orientations are conducted monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm.
- Apply for Access
There is a small access fee to make use of any of MCTV 15 production facilities for your own show. Fill out the Access Application and return it with your annual fee to Studio COS.
- Production Workshops
Training includes working with video camcorders, lighting, set design, audio, graphics, editing, studio production techniques and much more!
- Your Show
When you are ready to develop your own show, you must complete a production agreement and meet with MCTV 15 staff to assist in its planning. You can then book studio, editing and portable equipment time. During the production of your show, it's a good idea to get signed release forms from each of the people that will appear in your show. Once your show is complete, you can submit it for cablecasting. Some fees may apply to your production. See the Rate Sheet for details.

At MCTV 15 there is always something that needs to be done. Help organize events, train new producers, fund raising, marketing and many more opportunities. To get started:
- Attend an Orientation
The orientation includes a tour of the facilities, an overview of MCTV 15 services and policies. Orientations are conducted monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm.
- Attend a Monthly Board Meeting
Board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at Studio COS in Weed. They start at 9am and run for about 2 hours. If you want to help out please take initiative and let yourself be known.
- MCTV 15 Project
Work on a project that helps MCTV 15 futher it's mission. Keep track of your efforts on the time sheet. Every year MCTV 15 reports on the communities' level of involvement. These reports help in our fund raising efforts.

Q. What is the difference between an access producer and volunteer crew?

- Access producers can develop shows using MCTV 15 equipment and facilities. Volunteer crew are authorized to assist producers with in studio productions.
Q. Who is eligible to use the Studio COS facilities?

- Only Access producers who are current on their fees can book studio time and make use of MCTV 15 facilities.
Q. How do I find others to work on productions with?

- Many volunteers come and help on our community production day based on their knowledge of the production schedule posted on the website. We maintain a volunteer list on our website with contact information that you may use http://www.mctv15.org/Board/AddressBook. If you come and volunteer for other producers, you will be able to meet people that might be available to work with you.
Q. What are the most appropriate classes to take?

- College of the Siskiyous offers several media classes including COMM 35 which is dedicated to teaching the basic skills necessary for television production.
Q. How do I reserve equipment and facilities?

- You can call or stop by the studio Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10 AM and 2 PM. Reservation fees and check out form, including ID verification are due at time of booking.
Q. What are the volunteer options?

- You can volunteer to help MCTV 15 with operations or you can volunteer your time to other access producers.
Q. What paperwork do I have to complete?

- An Access Producer application along with access fees must be completed at time of booking prior to use of services. Fill out production agreement form. When booking facilities there are three forms to consider; Studio, Field and Editing. For equipment used away from the studio you must fill out an equipment release form. Finally, when your show is submitted for cable cast it must be accompanied with a completed show agreement.
Q. What could lose me my access privileges?

- Violation of our stated policies, available for reivew at the production facility and online.
Q. What are my liabilities?

- Equipment value is noted on any checkout forms. You may be liable for the value of the equipment should damage or loss occur while you have possession. You may want to be sure to have homeowners or other personal insurance to cover such occurances.
Q. How do I schedule a show?

- Call the Station Manager at 938-5910 to inquire about available booking times.
Q. How do I publicize my show?

- The TV schedule will be posted on the website. Yo may pursue other publicity for your show as you see fit.
Q. Can I distribute or sell my programs made at Studio COS facilities?

- The Producer owns the copyright for shows produced. Y Ou? are free to do whatever you wish with it as long as you meet the first airing requirements for Public Access.
Q. Who watches MCTV 15 and how many?

- Northland Cable TV subscribers number about 3,500 plus 1,000 hotel rooms in south county. Live video streaming reaches across the internet - the skies the limit!
Q. Can we get money for our programs? Underwriters?

- Producers may solicit underwriters for their programs to help pay access fees or other costs incurred by the Producer. In exchange, the producer may highlight the underwriter's information verbally during a show, and/or in credits for the show.
Q. What about getting money for our time?

- That is up to the Producer to solicit independently of any MCTV 15 involvement.
Q. How can I help the MCTV 15 survive and be effective?

- Make a tax deductible cash donation, encourage others you know to do the same.
Q. Does MCTV 15 have a production staff to cover a story I suggest?

- Suggestions from the community are posted to the website for Producers to see with your contact information. Our staff is available to keep the doors open, and be sure equipment is operational. They are available to supervise the production of shows and answer questions at the facilities but aren't meant to cover positions needed to complete your show.
